The end of Turn 6

November 24th, 2009

For those who have wondered about the future of the show this post is to give some understanding and insight to what will be, what has, and what was done.  You have probably guessed it right that the show is kaput and will not continue on. At the end of Episode 14 I proclaimed that as long as people wanted to hear the show I will continue to produce and have a “free” show for people to listen to. Between the “Yay’s or Nay’s” the Nay’s have it since I received a overwhelming amount of negative and rather rude emails that filled my inbox over the last few months.

Now I want it to be known that the show is free. I have never asked for a subscription price as its intent is to hopefully inspire and entertain. I never proclaimed myself to be the next herald of sigmar or the ultimate tabletop gamer. I am a normal guy juggling 3 jobs, an education, and a family just trying to have some fun getting people excited about warhammer.  The goal of this podcast was a hobby for me to possibly give some nuggets of info for upcoming gamers. This show was for you.

So its time to tally those victory points.

I had a lot of fun doing the show and met a ton of cool people at the various tournaments around the country. Dan Abbnet has to be the coolest author I ever met. I got to communicate with some awesome people from all over the world ( you crazy brits!) and got to annoy some other awesome show hosts.

But as I am overwhelmed by the real world’s pressures in life I have to consolidate my time and  some things have to drop to the wayside. I have not the time nor desire to continue with the show but thankfully the show never got off the ground right? Will the show be back??? I don’t know. Will the site still be up? … Yes I intend on keeping the show up and the hosting open to keep the old shows up since I still have the site for a year or so more. But without further ado I hope you have fun in your hobby and continue to paint, play, and own your opponents.

For the last time Gamers

Keep rolling those dice and hopefully not 1’s

Jason

The Ultimate Stripping Guide

June 30th, 2009

Hey everyone,

I have had people email me on what is the best way to strip old models. Since I am the biggest penny pincher I buy and trade to get old models and dirt cheap prices. Insert my huge 40k space marines (that I don’t play with but thats not important) tons of cheap pewter models tons of layers of hand me down paint, automotive primer, heck even maybe some melted crayons for all I know but as you can imagine most people wouldn’t shake a stick at it. I have the perfect way to strip models. So easy so fast so effortless but no one seems to know of it. All you need is:

Old crappy painted models that need a new coat of anything but what was on it.

A metal bowl and a bristled brush(WARNING!!! DO NOT USE WIFES BAKERY BOWLS TRUST ME)

A bottle of of Greased Lightning (you can find it in dollar stores here in the US) runs about $3.00 for a 40 ounce bottle.

Steps to Stripping

1. Put models in the metal bowl. Try to make them a single layer to preserve stripping agent.

2. Cover Models with the agent. Make sure to have the models at least an inch covered. So models will still be covered if evaporation happens.

3. Let sit - usually just basic painted models need only no more than a day to soak. Really layered models need 2 days maybe more.

4. when ready check the model by putting a hobby knife or something to the paint and see if it comes off easily. Usually the models will need to be checked in various places.

5. When ready take to a sink or drain. Have hot water running grab a bristled brush, have something a little stiffer than a toothbrush but these work a lot of times as well. With water running take the brush to the model and the paint should come off easily.

You may have a little paint in the recesses, that can come off easily with hobby knife tip or a hobby pick.

And then Wallah brand new models for half the price.

Hope you enjoyed

Jason

Vote for who’s painting speed reigns supreme!

June 28th, 2009

Good evening, good morning and good night everyone and welcome to the event where you decide whose painting reigns supreme.  Now be warned that since its a speed painting competiton these models are horrendous but the gauntlet was laid and due to the competitive nature of Sean and myself and only having 20 minutes to paint there was no going back on this one. We put our best foot forward and through blood sweat and painted tears we fought gloriously to bring before you our models to decide who wins.

Now your asking yourself why should I vote? Because you have the opportunity for mad loots!!! We are randomly giving away Warhammer Online prize (t-shirts, posters, 10 day WAR trials, buttons, etc, etc) packs of varing degrees to some of you who partake in our sillyness.

What do you have to do you ask? Look at these two models and decide which one is better. Then post in either the comments to this post or in our forums located in the sidebar to the right. Include with your vote your name and listen to episode 10 as the trash talk flies and we find out who wins.
